Who we are, and why we love travel

Bernard founded Latin America For Less in 1998, right after graduating from Southwestern University in Texas, with a degree in History. In his life and work, Bernard has utilized the knowledge he received from his liberal arts education, and his philosophy, history, and political science professors have been far more influential than any business readings he may have run into. At the end of the day, he believes life is about balance and connecting the dots. Bernard is very happy about the fact that he can sell something he believes in, and uses some of his earnings towards contributing to Peru-based human rights organizations. The pursuit of joy and catharsis are essential in his life, and is why he loves traveling so much. Bernard also believes there is more to life than traveling: listening to music with the lights off, slow food tasting, the visual arts, yelling gooooooool, and the laughter of his son Amaru Martí.

Katia has worked in the tourism industry in South America for over 18 years and loves it! She says that South America has many great things to offer: fun, history, adventure, culture, great food, traditions and most of all, friendliness. Katia holds a degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Tourism. She has worked in the hotel industry in tour operators which specialize in South America. Katia says being a part of this wonderful industry is a privilege and does not consider it a job but a hobby, and loves that she can offer beautiful destinations to travelers and help them achieve their dream vacation. She even speaks 4 languages!

In her spare time, she loves to travel (of course!), go to the beach, do puzzles and read and play with her little boy.

Richard joined Latin America For Less in October 2004 shortly after receiving a bachelor degree in Music Business and Management from Berklee College in Boston, Massachusetts. After 10 years of successful work in the travel industry, he went back to school and obtained a MBA with a specialization in Tourism Management from IE Business School. Throughout his education and his career, Richard has been able to combine his passions for travel, culture, the arts, and sustainable tourism practices. Richard spent his childhood in both the USA and Peru and is fully bilingual. His ability to navigate between countries and cultures has proven handy in working. As the director, Richard’s main goal is to serve travelers by applying high standards and ethics to all aspects of the business. He especially enjoys the challenge of immersing himself in the cultural dynamics of Latin America to successfully collaborate with local operators, communities, partners, and staff. Outside of the office, Richard considers himself a pretty good drummer, an ok surfer, and an outdoors hiker. He is proud to have completed a Half Ironman (3km swim + 90km bike + 20km run). But above all else, Richard enjoys time spent with his son and daughter, helping them discover the world.

I’m 27 years old and was born and raised in Lima, Peru, alongside my older sister and younger brother. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Lima. I’m passionate about traveling and delving into the history of different places. In my free time, I also enjoy playing board games and working on puzzles.

Jana is an entrepreneur woman fascinated by the ancestral teachings and in the constant quest to share wellness experiences throughout the world. She was born in Peru, where she graduated as a Social Communicator and found her passion in the wellness tourism industry, where she had worked in roles as Tour Conductor, Operations Manager and Yoga Retreats Leader.

For several years she shared many moments with indigenous communities in the Peruvian desert coast, highlands and rainforest, organizing and registering trips with volunteers for an NGO she worked for. While doing that, she discovered the immense potential and diversity of Peru. Since then, she couldn't stop exploring her country and Latin America.

In 2018 she got certified as a Yoga teacher in Costa Rica and during the world’s lockdown she dived deeper in the ancient Indian teachings, getting certified in Trauma Informed, Prenatal and Ayurvedic Yoga.

Jana is an enthusiast of Kirtan, the nervous system, non-violent communication, conscious eating, social art, public spaces and initiatives to address climate change. She is convinced that a single person cannot do everything, but can do something and that will be good for the world if it comes from a place of love.

Noelia was born in Lima, Peru. She received her bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Houston in Texas. Always eager to travel, Noelia has explored many different cities in Peru including: Cusco, Ica, Piura, Pasco, Junín, La Libertad, Cajamarca, Huánuco and San Martin.

Aside from Peru, she has traveled to many states in the United States such as Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Mexico, Arizona, Arkansas, New York, and has also been to Puerto Rico. In her spare time, Noelia likes watching movies, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. She is always up to trying new things.

Rylee is a photographer and musician originally from San Francisco. It was here that she studied Film Production at the State Universityand worked diligently through school at the Exploratorium Science Museum as an audiovisual technician and freelance photographer.

After graduation, Rylee had an urge to travel and explore the rest of the world, her camera at her side, and so spent time in Haiti, Mexico, South East Asia and Western Europe. She found the Caribbean and Latin American countries particularly visually exciting, although on one occasion, in Haiti, a voodoo curse was put on her by a lady worried that Rylee’s camera had captured part of her soul.

Her first experience of South America was when she traveled through Argentina and then to Peru… but she liked it so much she stayed! She realizes that traveling is always going to be an important part of her life, but for the time being.

Adrienne was born in Georgia, USA to French-American parents, and spent her first 10 years bouncing around different military bases in the US and Germany. She completed high school in Virginia and obtained her bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, before deciding to follow her true calling - travelling the world! After a year of travelling Europe, Adrienne landed in Lima, Peru, which she then called home for the next 6 years. During this time, she joined the Peru for Less team and in 2016 decided to work remotely, to explore the rest of the world. She then travelled extensively through South and Central America, Europe, India and Southeast Asia. Along the way, she met her adventure-loving husband and decided to get married in 2019. They have now based themselves in Mallorca, Spain, where they are expecting their first child, and already dreaming of their next travel adventures!

Brenda was born in Lima, Peru. Since she was a kid, Brenda has had a passion for international things, including traveling and learning languages such as English, Portuguese, French and Quechua. As soon as she turned 18, she travelled to the United States and visited many beautiful cities such as Charlotte, New York, San Francisco, Miami and more. Brenda pursued a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While Charlotte will always hold a special place in her heart, after receiving her masters she decided to returned back home after living in the US for four years.

She has travelled throughout Peru as an overseas mission trip coordinator for almost ten years. Recently, she spent two months in the gorgeous city of Cusco learning Quechua. During this time Brenda learned a lot more about her country, making her fall in love even more. These trips made her want to share her beautiful country with others, others like you.

Leila was born in Lima, raised with both Peruvian and Brazilian customs due to her father’s and mother’s respective heritage. Passionate for traveling, learning about different cultures and trying new experiences, she studied Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.

When she turned fifteen years old and visited Walt Disney World, she fell in love with the service industry. She started working while studying at the age of eighteen as a front desk clerk, and then she was a waitress. After graduating from university, she worked as a front desk clerk at a local hotel Peruvian chain. She has traveled to different countries but would like to get to know the many beautiful places and interesting things of her home country of Peru!

When she is not working Leila loves to watch new TV shows, visit new restaurants, coffee shops and bars nearby, spend time with her family and friends, exercise and try things involving music such as Zumba or Hula Hooping. Her favorite kind of food is Peruvian and her favorite drink is coffee.

Melissa was born and raised in Germany to a German mother and Russian Father. She received a bachelor’s degree in Health and Tourism Management from the University of Economics and Environment Nürtingen-Geislingen in Germany. During a semester abroad in Peru she got to know various places within the country and fell in love, so she decided to move to Lima now after the pandemic to continue her exploration.

Debbie, was born and raised in Perú with 21 years of experience in the Tourism industry. Passionate about traveling and being able to create memories by showcasing her own country.

Debbie has worked in the hotel, cruise and travel industry for half of her life. She considers herself lucky to have traveled the world on a cruise ship for over 10 years, giving her the opportunity to explore different destinations and learn about countries customs, food and interacting with cultures.

Debbie loves to bake, to barbecue, going to the beach and of course to traveling and exploring new destinations. She is a big believer that every country has its own charm, but considers that Perú has more than one.

Selene was born and raised in Lima. She received a double degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Houston and Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola.

Since a young age, she has wanted to travel the world and explore her own country. In Peru, Selene has visited Piura, Arequipa, Cusco, Junin, and Ica, and she looks forward to going to the Amazon Jungle. One of her favorite places in the world is Cusco because of all the activities, amazing landscapes, and variety of cuisine that you can experience there. Selene is now focused on her love of travel and has many destinations still left to visit, but in the future she would like to be part of a nonprofit organization focused on providing education to the less fortunate in Peru.

In her spare time she enjoys going to the theater, visiting museums, eating, dancing and always trying new things. Skydiving is one activity she’d like to cross off her bucket list.

Silvia is passionate about traveling. She loves Latin American landscapes, from the Caribbean beaches, passing through the highlands of the Andes to the magical Patagonia lands. She truly believes sustainable tourism is essential for traveling, to ensure that future generations enjoy the same landscapes we see today. Not only for the good of the natural world but also its people. Silvia has worked in the tourism industry for over ten years. She values friendship and happiness, so you will find a friend in her.

Maribell (two “ll’s” to make her unique, her father said) was born and raised in Cusco, Peru. She studied Tourism at Universidad San Antonio Abad in Cusco but after some time off traveling and working she studied Hospitality Management at San Ignacio de Loyola University.

At 19 she learned about Work & Travel exchange programs that opened her eyes to new experiences. During the winters she worked in Park City, Utah and during the summer on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts (where she would love to live) — packing and unpacking was exciting for her every time. It was on the island where she confirmed her passion for customized service and hospitality that led her to continue studying.

Besides working at well recognized and high standard hotels and restaurants she had the opportunity to visit some of the main cities in the US such as Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, with her favorites being Boston and Maui, Hawaii.

While abroad Maribell appreciated her ancestral culture more and more, the love for her people grew, and she missed the extraordinary cuisine. Now she is currently living in Lima and she proudly shows the city & other parts of Peru to her friends from other countries when they come to visit. One great dream of hers is to keep learning about other cultures and traveling farther (especially Europe and Southwest Asia) to finally be a world citizen.

Grecia is originally from Peru. She studied Public Relations, but she found that her life has always been linked to tourism. Now, she has been working in the industry for more than 10 years. She is passionate about her country and believes that everyone should someday discover Peru for its great cultural, gastronomic and natural wealth. She has also had the opportunity to travel to many different countries in the Americas and Europe, and she is still on a mission to discover many more places!

Eli is originally from Lima, Peru and her whole family is from Cajamarca, Peru. She studied Tourism and Hotel Management in university. Eli has a passion for traveling, riding his bicycle and taking long walks on the malecon overviewing the Pacific Ocean. She truly believes that traveling is one of the most enriching activities, so she feels lucky that she is able to help many people make their dreams come true.

Arianna is a Peruvian psychologist who studied at University of Lima, specializing in contextual therapy. During the pandemic, she felt the urge to travel in order to find herself again. While traveling through Latin America and Europe, she compared all the beautiful places she visited to Peru, and ultimately found Peruvian culture to be the best. She couldn't stay away from it, so she decided to go back to Peru and follow her true calling of helping others plan their dream trips to Peru. She believes that traveling is an investment in life and a way to reconnect with yourself, friends, or family. Besides helping others, she loves her 10 cats and 4 dogs, dancing salsa, singing, reading and going to the movies.

Alejandro was born in Ilo and raised in Lima. He has a bachelor's degree in Tourism and Business Management with a specialization in Hospitality from the Applied Sciences Peruvian University. He chose this career path because he loves to help people experience unforgettable travel.

While he worked in the restaurant industry he realized his passion for customer service. He also loves travelling and knows plenty of cities in Perú and abroad. In his free time he likes to cook, swim, listen to music and watch TV.

My name is Diana and I'm from Lima, Peru. Born and raised here, but with a passion of traveling abroad. I know by heart that since the minute my family from abroad visited me for the first time when I was about 7 years old, I knew I was ment to learn other languages and get to know other countries besides mine. I studied Hotel and Restaurant management (now known as Global Hospitality Leadership) at the University of Houston. I got the chance to go to this awesome life trip with my friends and it was the best experience ever.

After I finished my career, I returned to Peru and worked for a recognized line of hotels. Where I got my passion in customer service. I love to help others, and give them the best experiences as some others have done for me.

I love the beach, which is why I've visited San Andrés with my family. I have travelled to some countries around America as Colombia and Chile, besides the US. And inside Perú, Ica, Arequipa, and North of Lima. But I have this eager to get to know a lot more of my country and its beautiful culture.

Marietta was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She's a publicist, graphic designer, and artist. Her love for art has taken her on adventures to explore different places and cultures. During her time as a cultural manager, she discovered her knack for making connections, teaming up with others, and creating unforgettable experiences.

When she's not working, you can find Marietta indulging in her love for good food at local restaurants, enjoying fun nights out with friends, hitting up city concerts, or escaping into nature for a breather. She's always up for learning something new, whether it's trying her hand at tattooing or diving into books about astrology and ancient history.

Sergio was born in Lima, Peru. Since he was little, he learned English and traveled constantly to the country's mountains, specifically to Ayacucho, the land of his maternal family and also the old entrance to the Imperial city of Cusco, when there were no airports or roads and trips were on horseback or foot. He grew up knowing the comforts of Lima, but also the limitations of cities in the mountains, with difficult access. During his 29 years of age, he lived in Lima, 4 years in Ayacucho (where he learned a bit of Quechua), 4 months in Brazil (where he learned Portuguese), and had the opportunity to travel through El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama. Within Peru, he traveled through Piura, Chiclayo, Ancash, Lima, and Ica on the coast, Junin, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, and Cusco through the highlands, and Pasco through the Jungle. He is a lover of flora and fauna, the Peruvian Paso Horse, and also of Peruvian cuisine. He believes that every corner and culture of the world is unique and valuable, but he knows that he is a window to the Peruvian culture and enjoys helping and sharing his knowledge. He has a Bachelor's degree in International Business from USIL. He worked in foreign trade, health, NGOs, financial sectors, and tourism. In his free time, he reads and practices BJJ. He plans to visit more of the Peruvian Jungle.

Bruno was born in Lima and has lived in Brazil for two years and Australia for nine years. He speaks fluent Spanish, English, and Portuguese and has traveled to more than 30 countries across five continents. Bruno studied Industrial Engineering, but his passion for travel took over soon after he finished university. Married with two daughters, his family shares his passion for traveling. Bruno also enjoys surfing, tennis, football, exploring Peru's amazing food culture, and planning his next trip.

Born in Lima, Peru, Rossy is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the hospitality and tourism industries. Her journey began with an internship at Disney World Orlando, where the magic of creating special moments for others, working in a multicultural environment, and the joy of travel captured her heart.

Fueling her adventurous spirit, to date, Rossy has explored 40 countries! Some of her experiences include a safari in Sri Lanka, witnessing the spectacle of the 2018 Soccer World Cup in Russia, relaxing on the beaches of Thailand and Albania, and hiking an active volcano in Guatemala.

While she is eager to continue discovering every corner of the world, her heart truly belongs to South America, especially her beloved Peru. Rossy has traveled to almost every province of Peru but finds her place in the Andean region, especially in Cusco, Arequipa, and Huaraz, where nature and culture converge. She loves to share all her knowledge with others!

Beyond the travel tales, she is passionate about staying in the loop with the latest trends. Whether It's discovering new spots, hitting the trails, or trying out cool activities, she is always up for an adventure. When she is not on the road, you will find her practicing stand-up paddle, dancing in a salsa or bachata class, or even learning new things like Italian!

Daniel is a Sociologist who specialized in Social Theory. He has a Master in International Relations from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. He likes to solve Rubik Cubes, play chess, play videogames, read books, skateboarding and climbing. In his spare time, he works on his own artisanal beer brand!

Dean is a South African animal lover, travel enthusiast and writer. He lived in South Africa for 27 years, where he worked as a safari guide in the world-renowned Kruger National Park. After many, many wonderful safaris, he felt it was time to follow his heart to Perú, to be with this other half, whom he now calls my wife. Besides his passion for animals, the tourism industry and writing, he also finds graphic design and web development extremely interesting and enjoyable. In his free time, he enjoys a good movie or book, spending time with friends and family and exploring, as much as time and money allows!

Juan Andrés is a Business Administration Bachelor from the white city in Peru: Arequipa. Raised surrounded by 3 volcanoes and outdoors activities he developed a strong sense of respect and belonging to the outdoors. Practicing sports and extreme sports allows him to connect with nature. Hiking and mountain biking are some of his favorite hobbies. He also likes books, music, and art in all its forms. He strongly believes in continuous learning, always expanding knowledge for business and more importantly, for life.

Ariana was born in Lima, Perú. She attended Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola where she earned a degree in Art & Design. In her free time, Ariana enjoys trying out new coffee places and reading. She also loves to travel and would like to visit as many countries as possible in Europe and Asia.

Andres was born and raised in Cusco, Peru where he also studied Tourism at San Antonio Abad University. After finishing university he decided to do an internship in Hospitality and Tourism in the United States where he was able to reaffirm my dedication for service in the tourism industry. After his internship, he decided to go back to Peru and ended up working as Hotel Manager for 5 years. These years of experience and work in the tourism industry has led him to meet different people, which has helped him better understand the needs and desires of people when they are looking for a unique travel experience. He feels that it is most important for him to introduce others to the richness and cultural variety to the place he loves most, Peru.

Ricardo was born in Lima and is currently finishing his degree in the Administration of Tourist Companies at the National University of Federico Villarreal. His expertise in both operations and administration, and his kind character, have been warmly welcomed at Peru for Less. Ricardo has a love of Peru and has spent a large amount of time traveling through the Amazon in the north and east of the country. He has previously worked for such companies as E. Wong and Banco de Credito (BCP), which was a valuable experience that taught Ricardo about the inner workings of companies and customer satisfaction.

In his spare time Ricardo enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, and going to the cinema. Like many at Peru For Less, Ricardo happens to be a fanatical football supporter – his team is Alianza Lima, regardless of what others may say. In his spare time, Ricardo enjoys swimming, camping and trekking – he often wishes he had more free time to pursue his outdoor passions though! Over the weekends he is often found with his friends in some of Lima’s more animated night clubs where he enjoys a little rum. He dreams of getting to know all the provinces within Peru.

Veronica is a professional with 8 years of experience in the international tourism sector, she specializes in product development, contracting, finance and operation management. Veronica's passion is to travel and learn about different cultures, which is why she has traveled to more than 15 countries in less than 5 years! Another passion of Veronicas is volunteering and social projects, she believes it’s extremely important to influence our world by sharing our time and talent with those in need.

I was born in Lima, Peru, and I'm passionate about traveling—I'm truly a fan of all that Peru has to offer. I studied Hotel Management at Le Cordon Bleu Peru and dedicated myself to creating unforgettable memories and unique experiences for travelers while working at a travel agency. Swimming and Pilates are my favorite sports, and I love exploring new places.

Aracely studied Tourism at the San Antonio Abad University in Cusco. She has visited many places in Peru, and the most special place for her out of all the places she has been to is Machupicchu because of the energy that it gives off. She loves listening to music while riding my bike, reading before she goes to sleep, and exercising before work.

Marquinho was born and raised in Cusco, where he studied Tourism at San Antonio Abad University. He started working in tourism during the last semsters of college, which allowed him to get to know many places in Peru and many incredible people. One of his hobbies is traveling and discovering new places, he has a very adventurous soul. In his free time, Marquinho loves to go for walks in the mountains to connect and recharge in nature. He also like to practice adventure sports such as mountain climbing, rappelling, or hiking.

Cristhian was born and raised in Lima where he studied Tourism and Hospitality at San Martín de Porres University.

His life experiences have always been related to tourism and transportation, for example, when he was younger, he moved to Costa Rica where he learned about the importance of nature and taking care of the planet. He also worked for prestigious airlines in South America such as LAN Chile and TAM Airlines and for Cruz del Sur (one of the top bus companies in Perú!)

In 2016 he completed a masters degree in human resources, and his motto in life is: if you want to have a successful group of people then you have to invest in their development and empowerment.

During his free time, you can find him at the beach, or riding his bike!

Alonso Tarrillo was born and raised in Lima. Ever since he was little, his parents always encouraged him to travel and to explore new places. Because of this, one of his favorite pastimes is going on road trips (limited only by wherever his car can't go!). Alonso decided to study Tourism Administration at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. The path of tourism also led him to convert into a foodie, one of his favorite hobbies is going to the trending "huariques" or food spots in each city. After working in hotels and small travel agencies, Alonso later transitioned to working for tour operators. He had the opportunity to travel to various countries to promote the broad range of destinations in Peru. 21 years later, he is still working passionately in tourism, promoting the best that Peru has to offer.

Silvia was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She describes herself as a reliable, friendly and organized person.

Silvia studied Tourism and Hospitality at Ricardo Palma University, she chose this career path because she likes to help, interact and be a part of people's travel adventures. Silvia considers travel to be her passion, as you not only get to meet new people, customs and cultures, but also get to make experiences which last a lifetime.

Originally, she worked for several years in hospitality, and after working on a cruise in Europe, she decided to dedicate herself to be a travel agent, participating in different international fairs which promoted Peru - which she considers to be one of the most beautiful places in the world!

Silvia's hobbies are reading, swimming and listening to music. One of her dreams is to be part of an NGO’’ dedicated to teaching music and general arts to gifted children.

Ruth was born and raised in Lima, Peru. From an early age she developed a passion for travel and Peruvian culture. While growing up, she and her family visited different cities during holidays such as Huancayo, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Cajamarca and Apurimac. This experience strongly motivated her to study Tourism Management at the National University of San Marcos. She really enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures. One of her goals is to visit all Peruvian Regions and main cities. During her free time, she loves walking, reading a good book, watching movies, and spending quality time with her family and two doggies, Misti and Toby.

Melany studied Tourism and hotel management at USMP university located in Peru followed by a master in hotel and tourism marketing. She feels very passionate about her career and what she loves the most is being able to show travelers the wonderful country that she is from. Her whole professional career has been in travel agencies, where she believes she has been able to learn a lot about quality customer service.Melany is now studying a second career in nutrition. In her free time, she likes to exercise, dance, do yoga and read. She loves traveling and has a dream that one day she will travel around the whole world. One of her preferred phrases is: Live as if it were the last day of your life.

Analu was born in Lima, Peru. Since she was a child, she has loved different cultures and traveling. She has always admired her dad’s job where he was a manager at an international NGO. This allowed him to travel to different countries, and ultimately helped put Peru as a great destination to visit for tourists. Because of that, she decided to study Tourism Management at the National University of San Marcos. She has now been working in the tourism industry for 6 years now. In her free time, she loves to read, travel, watch football, and look after her pets, Emma and Blacky.

Carlos has always been a very curious person. As he grew older he was struck by the many different places in the world, with different cultures and ways of thinking, which is why he decided to enter the world of Tourism. To this day, he has been meeting and serving tourists from all over the world for many years, and feels that it is something that he will never get bored of. Carlos believes that we are all different and that is greatly appreciated.

Aldo was a previous hotel manager, graduate of Cenfotur, born in Tacna, Peru. He is passionate about traveling and hiking and he enjoys good food, music, and doing sports.

Adriana, born and raised in Cusco, Peru, has a deep love for her native land's, history and art, which led her to pursue a career in Tourism Management at San Ignacio de Loyola University and to follow studies in History of Art.

She is always eager to learn new things, in her free time loves reading books, hiking, doing collage to clarify the mind and visiting museums and galleries. Her passion for helping others led her to become a volunteer and aspires to be a factor of change in tourism in Peru, making it more inclusive and sustainable with the communities.

Andrea was born in Lima, Peru, and had the opportunity to study tourism management at San Ignacio de Loyola University. She likes to participate in team sports like volleyball, basketball, and rugby, as well as languages like English, Italian, and French, and now she is learning German. She likes to be with her family and friends and especially with her dog Thyson who have been together for more than 14 years and she likes to be able to make anyone smile.

Marilyn is from Lima, Perú. She has a degree in Tourism and Hospitality, and loves her career because she feels that working in tourism can fulfill people's dreams. She enjoys dancing, watching movies, baking cookies, and is very obsessed with chocolate. One thing that she particularly loves is teaching, which she has been doing as a volunteer for children these past 5 years. Something that she also cannot get enough of is spending time with her family and friends, especially if it's traveling. Marilun really likes pandas and hopes to become a volunteer at a sanctuary located in China to take care of them.

Andrea studied tourism at Cenfotur, a Tourism Training Center located in Lima, Peru. She has always liked the operational side of tourism when creating trips, so she has been pursuing that in her career. For her the best part is when people leave from their trip happy and with great memories. Hearing great results makes her proud of her work. Andrea is also a mother, and one of the many things she wants to teach her son is that the greatest satisfaction and best results come from hard work.

Antonela was born in the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, Argentina.

Inspired by her father, she felt that her passion would be to travel and make her passion her job.

She studied tourism in Argentina and worked in hospitality industry. In 2017 she moved to Peru and from the Patagonian ice she went to the hottest beach in Peru, Mancora, where she worked for the last 3 years and where she fell in love with the sunsets and ceviche.

She believes that Peru has wonders in every corner that deserve to be discovered.

In her spare time, she loves walking on the beach with her rescued and surfer dog, Akira, dog that she found in Mancora and brought to Lima. She loves photography, travelling and she hopes to travel and work on a cruise ship all around the world some day.

Alex was born and raised in Lima and has been a resident of Barranco for 27 years. Growing up in an environment related to tourism allowed him to develop a spirit of service towards tourists. He worked in customer service for many years until he decided to pursue tourism as a profession. Through this career change, Alex was able to further develop his talents and passion for serving others.

He has worked in various positions, including at hotels and a travel agency. Additionally, Alex had the incredible opportunity to live in Cusco for a couple of years, where he was able to expand his human and professional side. As for his hobbies, Alex enjoys capturing the beauty of landscapes and people through photography, playing sports - especially athletics - and going on adventures. He has a great love for animals and considers his two dogs to be a part of his family. Alex also enjoys good music, spending time with friends, and playing board games.

Yaharia was born in Lima, Perú. She studied tourism and hospitality at Ricardo Palma University where she got the bachelor's degree. She considers herself as a wanderlust and this passion for discovering new cultures has taken her to around 21 countries and to all 7 wonders of the world. In her professional life, she has more than 15 years of experience in customer service and more than 9 years of experience in aviation where she worked as a counter agent and as a cabin crew member for LATAM Airlines, which she considered one of the most important airlines in the world.

Stephanie originally comes from Cusco, she is a very proud Cusqueña and loves her culture and traditions. That’s why 10 years ago, she decided to become a tour guide and after a few years started her second career in Management. Now, Stephanie holds two degrees and is extremely proud of that.

Stephanie has extensive experience in the tourism industry, and she always seeks to provide the best customer service she can. She feels the most rewarded when passengers end their trip with a smile on their face and are grateful for her work.
Due to both of her parents being musicians, Stephanie has a passion for music, she believes that music is what the feelings sound like and that is the only universal language.
Aside from music, she also loves trekking,she has been doing this from a young age and it is something which is soul-fulfilling for her.

Giulliano is from Cusco, Peru and has been a lover of his culture ever since he was a child. He studied at Cenfotur Management of Hotels in Cusco and then continued his studies at Tarapaca University Ingenieria of Management of International Business located in Chile. He loves to travel by motorcycle, to visit different places that he is unfamiliar with, and loves to learn more about his culture so that he can share it with the rest of the world!

Mariana is 31 years old and studied at Universidad Alas Peruanas. She has a lovely 5-year-old daughter and enjoys traveling, making desserts, and playing volleyball. Mariana dreams of attending the Rio de Janeiro carnival and living in a big house with a garden and a Saint Bernard.

Dámaris was born and raised in Cusco, Peru, where she studied Tourism at San Antonio Abad University. She is a friendly, sincere, and organized person with over eleven years of experience in the tourism industry. For most of those years, she worked for a tour operator located inside The Luxury Collection hotels, but she also had the opportunity to work in the hospitality industry. In this field, she learned that the key to providing high-quality service is connecting with people, allowing them to have the best possible experience and create unforgettable memories of their country.

Dámaris believes that traveling is an investment in life that allows us to learn about new cultures and customs and reconnect with ourselves, our families, and our friends. During her free time, she enjoys preparing and eating desserts.

I am Laura, by profession an hotel administration , with more than 8 years of experience in the tourism sector. I am characterized by being a responsible, empathetic person with the ability to integrate into a group very easily. I was recognized for my performance on Manu occasions.

One of the important stages of my life was becoming a mother 5 years ago, this motivated me more to grow and helped me see things from another perspective.

I reaffirm my commitment to new opportunities, contributing my experience and learning a little more each time.

Fabricio is from Cusco and his knowledge of the city, its history, the surrounding area and Machu Picchu is unbelievable. He is in fact a direct descendant of one of the last Inca and is deeply proud of his cultural heritage. Fabricio studied mechanical engineering at the National University of Engineering in Lima. Engineers don’t often become tour guides but by some stroke of luck Fabricio was given the opportunity, after graduating, of accompanying a few tourists through Peru. He became their defacto guide through his home country and at the end of the tour realized that he had found his true calling. Embarking upon a new stage in his life Fabricio started studying to become a tour guide.

Fabricio is deeply knowledgeable about the Inca Culture and is also very keen to share his wealth of information with anyone who cares to listen. He enjoys river rafting, trekking, mountain biking and is both a guide and an expert in each field. He is bright eyed, charismatic, and aims to give tourists the best possible experiences of Peru imaginable. He dreams of one day being the best Tour Guide in Peru – we at Peru For Less however, know that he already is.

Silvana is a Lima native with a love of travel. Her best childhood memories are of visiting family in Chiclayo and enjoying the gorgeous beaches of northern Peru. Silvana earned a degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from San Martin University and has also studied Accounting. Silvana speaks English, Spanish, and French, and is looking forward to learning Portuguese next to get ready for a future trip to Brazil.

A proud Limeña, Ana was born and raised in Peru’s bustling capital city. She attended the Instituto Particular de Lima and received a bachelors degree in Accounting. Ana has more than 15 years of professional experience working in administrative and accounting positions with Peruvian enterprises and legal offices.

Although she has lived her whole life in Lima, Ana has traveled to many places within Peru, including the Amazon and the southern Andes. Fascinated by its folkloric appeal, Huancayo is her top travel destination pick; however, she dreams of retiring in beautiful Arequipa. In her spare time, Ana enjoys going to the cinema and watching Steven Spielberg movies with her family. Ana is happily married with 2 children.

Katya was born and raised in Lima. As a child she enjoyed traveling by train to Jauja to visit her grandparents in the countryside of Peru. She also liked to travel to the north of Peru to visit her cousins and go to the beach and enjoy the sunset. Katya has a degree in Accounting and a bachelor's degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from San Martin de Porres University. She has traveled solo through Peru, but she always made friends in each destination. She likes to learn about new cultures and also to share the wonders of Peru. In her free time she likes to go to the movies, watch series, and spend time with her friends and niece.

Carolina was born in Lima, Peru. She considers herself an optimistic, honest, intelligent and adventurous person. She received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Peru. During her professional career, she found herself the most passionate about finance.

She loves to visit new places. In Peru, she has traveled to Chanchamayo, Ayacucho and Ica. She is fascinated by spaces with lots of vegetation, warm environments, and adventure tours. Some other hobbies of hers include running, swimming, reading and watching series.

Lucila was born in Pucallpa, Peru, but has lived most of her life in Lima. She attended Ricardo Palma University where earned a degree in Tourism, Hotel Management and Gastronomy. Lucila has loved traveling ever since she was a kid when she used to spend her holidays discovering new places with her family. She also loves to hang out with friends and family, watch television, and listen to music.

Braulio is from Cusco and very passionate about software and programming. Currently, he is investigating web and mobile applications, and aspires to become a great developer who creates many software systems. One day he would like to study photography and merge it with his passion for software design.

Braulio likes to play soccer, watch movies, and hangout with his dog Loki during his free time. Also an avid trekker, the Inca Trail and Salkantay Trek are at the top of his must-trek list.

Nick was born in Lima, Peru, and was exposed to the world of computer science from a young age. This early exposure led him to pursue higher studies in systems engineering at the Peruvian University Union, where he discovered his passion for development. He enjoys learning about new technologies and is particularly interested in web development.

Nick considers himself to be a responsible person who thrives in a team environment and enjoys helping others to achieve their goals. In his free time, he likes to play basketball and listen to alternative music.

Jorge Daniel Maquera Canales is a proud descendant of missionaries born in Juliaca, Puno. At an early age, he moved with his family to Lima due to his father's job. During his school years, Jorge demonstrated his ability in sports, actively participating in the basketball and athletics team. Later, Jorge studied systems engineering, obtaining his bachelor's degree and being recognized as the top of his university class. In addition to his career, Jorge is passionate about cinema, music, and sports.

Despite having lived in Lima for most of his life, Jorge has always maintained a great love for the culture and legacy of the Andean Peru. His most valuable experience has been touring Lake Titicaca with his loved ones, where he has been able to enjoy the natural beauty and rich history of his country.

I was born in Cajamarca, Peru. I consider myself a perseverant, creative person and I am always thinking of new innovative projects.

I feel a great inclination to help children from underprivileged communities and I firmly believe that together we can achieve positive changes. That is why, as a developer, my greatest desire is to continue growing and acquiring new knowledge so that in the near future I can create a smart community in a rural area of Peru.

Jose was trained as a tourism guide at Centro de Formacion Turistica in Peru before moving to Cusco to work as a trekking and mountain biking guide. He returned to Lima to study languages and joined our accounting team where he has enjoyed learning about the tourism industry and helping clients enjoy the many fascinating attractions of his native country. His passion is to travel until his last dime is spent and his greatest dream is to visit all of the world’s continents.

José is from Chincha, Peru. He graduated with a degree in Technical Support and Network Administration. Jose likes to practice what he has learned in his IT area and works hard to be the best that he can. José’s passions include sports such as soccer, and he likes to spend his free time reading or watching different television series.

Our Executive Chef, Istvan, is easily one of the most popular members of our team. He keeps us well fed! Istvan grew up in Hungary near the border with Slovekia and studied culinary arts in the city of Gyor. Istvan’s favorite Hungarian dishes are Transylvanian Cabbage and Goulash. He also likes Peruvian Lomo Saltado.

He has traveled extensively around Europe, including trips to Greece, Germany, England, Ireland, Bulgaria, and many more. He hopes to explore more destinations in South America, like Argentina and Brazil. Istvan looks forward to visiting Cusco and Machu Picchu in the near future. Istvan moved to Lima in 2013 with his Peruvian wife. They have been married since 2011. In his free time, he enjoys watching classic Robert De Niro and Al Pacino films. He also likes outdoor activities like skiing and swimming.
