Itinerary

  • Upon arrival at the airport in Buenos Aires, take a private transfer to your hotel in the city.
  • Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, exploring on your own or taking it easy at your hotel. Buenos Aires is marvelous, full of colors and different kinds of architecture. Wander the cobblestone streets lined with outdoor cafes, enjoy the mouthwatering aroma of prized Argentine beef sizzling on an open parrilla (barbecue), and visit local antique and artisan markets in the colorful Palermo Soho neighborhood offering plenty of bargain shopping.

  • During the half-day tour today, discover the historical and political roots of the city and its neighborhood diversity along with your guide. From the historic center, visit San Telmo with its cobbled streets, the bold colors and ever-present tango in La Boca, and finally, the chic and aristocratic Recoleta.
  • You’ll end your day discovering tango at one of the most exclusive Buenos Aires tango houses, Tango Porteño, and take a lesson. Here, the ambiance and preserved traditions exude the charm of the bygone era. This tour includes roundtrip transport to a live tango show, meal service, and a tango lesson.

  • Welcome to Patagonia! This southern region of Argentina is a wonderland of open spaces and rugged natural beauty. On the banks of Argentino Lake, the city of El Calafate is the gateway to surrounding natural attractions such as the world-renowned Perito Moreno Glacier.
  • Today begins with a transfer from your hotel in Buenos Aires to the airport for a domestic flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival, take a private transfer to your hotel for check-in. Spend the rest of the day strolling around town at your leisure, taking in the beautiful scenery.

  • Take an adventurous full-day Perito Moreno Glacier tour that begins with a 25-mile (40 km) drive to Los Glaciares National Park. This expansive national park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to approximately 200 glaciers. Nearly half of Los Glaciares National Park is in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the largest ice field after Antarctica. The park entry is included in this tour.
  • Follow your guide along walkways for about an hour to different viewpoints of Perito Moreno and learn more about one of the only glaciers on Earth that is not receding. With some luck, you may even see a chunk of ice break off and fall from the glacier wall into the turquoise lake.
  • Then, leave the viewing platforms and board a nautical safari for a boat ride even closer to the towering ice walls of Perito Moreno. Afterward, make the return drive to El Calafate and the transfer will drop you off at your hotel for the evening.

  • Check out highlights in El Calafate during a free day. Local shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the town center. Buy souvenirs, visit the exhibits at the Glaciarium Museum, or take a half-mile (about 1 km) hike out to Laguna Nimez for a beautiful sunset. Or, ask your Travel Advisor to tailor your itinerary with another outdoor activity.
  • *Optional: If you would like to experience more of Patagonian culture, customize this package with a full-day tour to Estancia Cristina Discovery. Navigate the turquoise waters of Lago Argentino, sailing through floating icebergs en route to the gorgeous Estancia Cristina within a remote corner of the national park. Learn about the history of the estancia during a brief introductory tour and take an adventurous 4x4 excursion to breathtaking views of the Upsala Glacier. Then, during a short hike, discover the most impressive view of the Lake William glacier in the Patagonian Ice Field.

  • Welcome to Puerto Iguazu, the small town and tourism hub for visiting Iguazu Falls in northern Argentina. These roaring waterfalls, known collectively as Iguazu Falls, are one of the most impressive natural wonders in South America and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazu, our representative will meet you at the airport and accompany you for the transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the tropical climate and jungle setting close to the border with Brazil and rest up for the next adventure.

  • Set out on an exciting first day to the Iguazu National Park. This guided full-day tour is jam-packed with natural beauty and takes you to the Argentina side of the falls. The humid, subtropical forest that surrounds Iguazu is also home to many different species of wildlife such as toucans, parrots, and coatis, which are another high point of the tour.
  • A transfer will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the starting point of the tour within the park. The park fee is included.
  • Walkways weaving in and around the falls give new perspectives to this magnificent spectacle of nature. As part of this tour, take the Ecological Jungle Train to the station for Devil’s Throat, one of the largest and most impressive falls of Iguazu.
  • After walking around and taking pictures of waterfalls, animals, and plants, there is some downtime during which you can buy something for lunch before the afternoon transfer back to your hotel.

  • Appreciate another visit to Iguazu Falls, but this time head on a shorter 2-3 hour guided tour to the Brazilian side. While Argentina has eighty percent of the falls on its side, the Brazilian side of Iguazu offers the best panoramic views. Furthermore, the Argentine side gives you the sensation of being right inside the falls, but only by visiting the Brazilian side are you fully able to appreciate the immensity of Iguazu Falls.
  • From your hotel, the tour begins with a drive to Foz do Iguazú (Portuguese for Iguazu Falls). You will cross the border between Argentina and Brazil, so do not forget your passport. Please check in advance with your Travel Advisor about possible visa requirements.
  • Meet your guide at the entrance and board a bus that will take you closer to the falls. The park fee is included. Upon arrival, stroll the paths and feel the spray of water in your face. Look down at Salto Santa Maria flowing into Rio Iguassu and get even closer to Devil’s Throat. At the end of the tour, take a return bus ride to the park entrance, and our transfer will drop you off at your hotel.
  • Later in the afternoon, after your tour, take a transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you from the airport to your city hotel for the night.

  • After breakfast at your hotel, our private transfer will take you to the airport for your journey home or on to your next destination.

We had the same tour guide the whole time we were there from picking us up at the airport, all our tours, and dropping us off at the end of the stay. He was absolutely fabulous. Iguazu was a real highlight of our trip and our tour guide was a major reason for that.
